Outlaws vs. Hounds Live Blog

Both teams are out on the field getting ready for today's MLL semifinal matchup. The Hounds (7-7) will be playing in their club's first postseason contest, while the Outlaws (14-0) are appearing in their 12th.

First Quarter

The teams are back out on the field and we're just minutes away from the opening faceoff.

15:00: Kelly wins the faceoff and gets a good shot on goal but the Hounds come up with the game's first save.

14:09: Sieverts' shot is saved but Law is there to gobble up the rebound and put it in the back of the net to give Denver a 1-0 lead.

12:16: Tripucka evens the game at 1-1 with an unassisted goal for the Hounds.

10:45: Bocklet knocks down a pass and scoops up the ground ball to give the ball back to Denver with 10:30 left in 1st qtr.

10:30: The Hounds force a turnover of their own to regain possession.

9:25: Charlotte takes a 2-1 lead with a goal from Poillon.

7:58: Sawyer buries a 2-pointer to give the Hounds a 4-1 lead.

7:30: Kelly wins the faceoff and after a quick pass to Bocklet, who feeds Law, Law gets his second of the game. 4-2 Hounds lead.

5:31: Mundorf takes a check that knocks his helmet to the ground, no call on the play that results in a turnover and a two-pointer by Danowski to give the Hounds a 6-2 lead.

3:17: Sawyer scores again for the Hounds to push their lead to 7-2.

2:00: Schwartzman comes up with a pair of saves to give the ball back to Denver.

1:30: Snider is checked as he releases a shot making it an easy save for the Hounds.

0:38: Sawyer gets his third goal of the game to give the Hounds an 8-2 lead.

The first quarter comes to an end with the Hounds leading 8-2. Denver's goals were both scored by Eric Law. The Hounds got three goals from Mike Sawyer, one from Matt Danowski and one from Peet Poillon. Danowski and Sawyer each netted a two-pointer.

Second Quarter

15:00: Hounds get the opening faceoff of the second quarter but throw it away to give possession to Denver.

13:40: Mundorf loses the ball and the Hounds come back down the field with an 8-2 lead early in the second quarter.

12:40: Schwartzman takes a big hit on the clear drawing the first flag of the day. Outlaws with a man-up opportunity for 2:00 after the illegal hit on Schwartzman.

10:55: Pennington feeds Law sitting on the crease and the rookie attackman picks up his third goal of the game. Denver trails 8-3.

9:49: Tripucka finds the back of the net to push the Hounds' lead to 9-3. That's his second goal of the game.

8:41: Snider wins the faceoff for the Hounds, who get a goal from White to make the score 10-3 in favor of the Hounds.

8:30: Robarge wins the faceoff, but turns it over resulting in another Hounds goal. 11-3 Charlotte leads.

6:50: Bocklet feeds Law, who dives and nets his fourth goal of the game. Denver down 11-4, Law has all four scores for the Outlaws.

6:00: Bocklet finds Law again, who buries his fifth of the game. 11-5, Hounds lead.That's three assists for Chris Bocklet and five goals for Law thus far.

4:13: Young winds up and scores the 12th goal of the game for Charlotte. Hounds lead 12-5.

3:29: White scores his second of the game to give the Hounds a 13-5 lead.

1:53: Sieverts scores to cut Hounds' lead to 13-6.

:35: Law nets his sixth ortzf the game to make it 13-7 at halftime. His six goals ties a team postseason record.

Third Quarter

15:00: Denver wins the faceoff to open the second half. 

12:56: Hounds come up with a pair of saves to regain possession.

9:19: White gets his third goal of the game to give Charlotte a 14-7 lead.

7:00: Mundorf hits the back of the net for his first goal of the game, assisted by Sieverts. 14-8 Hounds lead.

5:45: Law sets a new club postseason record with his seventh goal of the game to cut Charlotte's lead to 14-9. The seven goals for Law tie a team record for all games and establish a new record for an Outlaws rookie.

:30: Denver will get its third powerplay opportunity. Charlotte leads 14-9.

:01: Holding the ball with :04 left, Schwartzman throws a bomb down the field to Greer who scores at the buzzer to cut the Hounds' lead to 14-10 entering the 4th. This is the first time Denver has trailed entering the fourth quarter all season.

Third Quarter

15:00: Charlotte opens the period with a faceoff win. 

10:00: Schwartzman makes a save as neither team has scored in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. 

9:00: Law gobbles up a ground ball and flicks it into the back of the net to set a new MLL postseason record with his eighth goal of the game to cut the Hounds' lead to 14-11. 

7:40: Schwartzman makes another big save to send the ball down the field for Denver with 7:30 to play.

7:24: Denver's made it a one-possession game with a tally from Pennington. Hounds lead 14-12. The Outlaws have scored five in a row and seven of the last eight.

5:46: Charlotte jumps back up by three (15-12) on the goal from Sawyer.

4:36: Denver wins the faceoff and calls timeout with the Hounds ahead 15-12.

4:00: Denver turns it over and Charlotte regains possession.

3:22: Young scores his second for Charlotte to give the Hounds a 16-12 lead. To continue following the action, follow the team on Twitter. Blog will be updated next at the end of the game.

0:00: Snider scored to give Charlotte a 17-12 advantage, then Denver got goals from Mundorf and Law in the final minutes to make the final Hounds 17, Outlaws 14.
